ViruS: Tips and info on using a jetpack

Jetpack

The best thing you could ever get to get to high places with ease without having to blow yourself up using a lucifer cannon or grenade. Jetpacks in this game are not agile therefore not recommended for combat, unless you want to be a "jettard" (a term used to describe a person who "camps the sky" without comming down). If you do see a jettard, if you are an alien that is able to reach high places, give it a try to take down the jet. Jetpacks have a delay of one second before they are re-activated automatically, therefore allowing other aliens to try and kill him. If you are not a suitable class or if the jettard is out of reach, it is better off ignoring him.

Jettards will not last forever though.
The jetpacks will deactivate whenever the reactor is down, so it is advisable to not use one when escaping the base while the base is being destroyed.

Although jetpack is not mobile, it still can dodge with ease. To evade, its prefered to "strafe" sideways rather than forward as the forward speed depends on how close to the horizon you look. Meaning if you're looking down, you won't move forward much.

But jetpacks are quite handful for simple tasks such as moving the reactor up to a high place, doing a "grenade" run and such.
For more advance users that already know how to use the console, you can bind the jetpack to a key. In my binds list, i have "g" as the jetpack toggle.
Type /bind [key] "itemtoggle jetpack" and enter it in. Replace [key] with a keyboard button of course.
E.g.
/bind g "itemtoggle jetpack"
There is no complications to it.
